Remove the covers after cleaning. ‘The main switch is connected to the battery ground cable and should be open during any service work or welding. ‘The batteries should be checked during each week service (60 h). Check mounting, cable connections, electrolyte level and cleanliness. Electrolyte density should also be checked regularly, e.g. every 1000 hours. If you remove a battery, disconnect the groud cable first, and when installing, connect the groud cable last. AA Always wear safety glasses when working with batteries. Battery acid will bum skin, eat holes in clothing and it can cause blindness if splashed into eyes. AX iyou spill acid on yourself: (> flush skin immediately with lots of water © apply baking soda to neutralize the acid If acid gets in your eyes: i flush immediately with lots of water @ see a doctor at once AA Wren charging or discharging, the batteries generate hydrogen. Release of hydrogen causes a danger of explosion, Spark or flame could ignite the gases. To prevent battery explosion: « maintain the electrolyte at the recommended level, © add distilled water to batteries only when starting up, never when shutting down do not short circuit battery terminals use a flashlight to check the electrolyte level, never a flame when using a battery charger, always tum the charger off first, then disconnect the charger leads ‘7 donot disconnect the battery when the engine is running gag Toro (Woz 007 10/99 E2 ELECTRIC DIAGRAMS (STANDARD ASN 1402-1) 1.
