CITYGATE DREAM CENTER FAQ

What is the CityGate Dream Center?

The Dream Center is a non-profit organization that aims to help children and families in
the East Burlington area.

What does the Dream Center do?

The organization hosts weekly events such as RES for high school students, ESL classes,
and SPIN classes for middle school students. They also hold large events such as the
Love My City Giveaway.

How many people attend these events?

After a recent increase in the amount of kids attending there are approximately 900
people attending events. This sparked a change in weekly classes, which led to separate
nights for middle and high school students.

How can I get involved?

The Dream Center is always looking for volunteers. You can reach out through our
website or by contacting one of the wonderful staff members.

Do you partner with any colleges or universities in the area?

Yes! Our ESL classes are run with the Alamance Community College and we partner
with Elon University as well. For students at Elon, we are a service-learning client and
we partner with the institution through the Kernodle Center so you can earn service
hours.

Is there a certain amount of hours to volunteer for?

No there is no certain number of hours unless stated by a professor or other requirement

for your institution. We hope that you will come and spend time with us and the kids
often as they love to meet people and hang out!
