Techniques are the medium through which themes are expressed in plays.

As form and content go

together in poetry, themes and techniques become interdependent in performing art such as plays.
There are various ways in which techniques are imbedded with themes in plays. Dattani uses 'on
phone conversation' as a technique to reveal important information in his plays. "This can be taken
as a substitute for dramatic monologue" (Das 139). Instead of making use of the conventional
dramatic monologue he uses the telephonic 130 conversation as a technique of unfolding the
mystery and deep personal secrets of some characters, which the audience comprehend instantly
during the conversation.
