The Advance Amendment Slip No. 31, January 2014 to the G&SR- 2008 edition,
is given below:

The contents of Sr. No.2 of Annexure-IV of Chapter XVI at page 458 & 459 may
be replaced with the following-

2. Exchange of Private Numbers:

{i} Station Master/Cabinman shall advise the gateman the number,


description, direction and expected time of the passage of the train at
the gate under exchange of Private number.
{ii} Such advice shall be given before taking 'off departure signal, giving
an authority to proceed to the loco pilot or before granting line clear
for train to depart from station in rear.
{iii} The Gaternan on receipt of the advice shall close the gate well in time,
and confirm the same, under exchange of Private number.
{iv} The Station Master/Cabinman will lower the departure signals, hand
over authority to proceed or will grant line clear for train to depart from
station in rear.
{v} On a single line, the Gaternan shall be authorised to open the LC gate
after complete passage of train from the gate by observing tail lamp I
tail board.
{vi} On a double line, gate once closed for road traffic must on no account
be opened unless this is authorised by the Station Master/ Cabinman
under exchange of private number.
The Station Master, before giving such permission shall ensure that there
is no train movement towards the level crossing on both line.
