I had the pleasure of teaching and coaching Devin Holman the past three years both as an AVID
student (Advancement Via Individual Determination - College Prep course) and as an athlete in the sport of
wrestling. I have found him to be a very determined young man. Academically, he is a true scholar-athlete,
holding a 3.6 GPA while being involved with extracurricular activities such as Animal Showmanship and
Welding in FFA. Athletically, he is a very gifted athlete that works hard and as a result he was a two time
Devin accepted the challenge of taking more challenging classes versus taking an easier route his
senior year by joining AVID. I have seen him open up and grow as a person to a more confident student that
is not fearful of taking chances. Devin is an active participant in all of our discussions, and he always
Devin has plans to attend Fresno State and major in Kinesiology in pursuit of a career in Athletic
Training. I am certain that Devin is going to continue to amaze us with talents and do great and creative
things in the future. I believe that Devin will do well in whatever he undertakes; he has earned my
