Sydney MacRae Pest Administrator Comments: i 2 ‘Sydney completed her PSIII round with us at Dr. Probe Elementary in a Grade Two classroom. During her practicum, she was responsible primarily for teaching math, sclence and art. Sydney's classroom allowed her to experience the typical issues, and challenges that can come along with teaching. She had a particularly busy cless, and management and relationships were imperative to establish right from the beginning. This ensured that the most effective learning environment could be established. 'When observing Sydney, was evident that she was prepared, and put time and effort into her lessons. Her objectives were lear, and she always let the students know what they would be leaming, and what they should walk away with once the lesson was complete. Her lessons always involved a variety of activities, ensuring that students would be engaged and want {to actively participate in the lesson. From my observations, Sydney was adept at being aware of the various needs present in the classroom, Sydney worked very hard from the beginning to set up classroom and individual incentives for positive ‘behaviour supports in the room. twas also apparent that the students in the class enjoyed Sydney and began to form trusting relationships. She tailored her lessons to ensure that all types of learning styles were met. Kids had opportunities to express their learning in diferent ways, and because of this, were invested in their learning, |Another area of strength was Sydney's response to feedback. Itwas clearly evident that Sydney took all feedback into ‘consideration. Every discussion we had was thoughtful, and she would ask for clarification or suggestions when necessary. | 'was extremely impressed with her ability to make changes in her teaching so quickly, Sydney also took the fime to visit other classrooms to get ideas for classroom management and routines. This is an incredibly important skill that will serve her greatly as she moves forward in her teaching career. Itwas a pleasure to have Sydney with us for PSIll, and | have no doubt that she will continue to grow and develop her strengths as an educator in the years to come. She is a very willing learner, and this is very important for when she has her ‘own classtoom. The skills she currently possesses will nly grow stronger with each teaching experience. | believe Sydney ‘will be able to contribute many things to her future educational pursuits, and | wish her all the best as she moves forward. | am. ‘grateful we had the chance to work with her for her internship.
