Itis my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Pilar Yanez. In my years as an
educator, I have gotten to know many students and Pilar is one that stands out the most due to her
commitment to success. Pilar simultaneously participates in several extracurricular activities while
maintaining an excellent grade in my Forensic Science class. This class requires students to think
critically about college-level material, frequently collaborate with other classmates, and apply several
domains of science such as chemistry and physiology to evidence and the legal system. Pilar has proven
to be a brilliant young woman who stretches her abilities by taking challenges head on, whether it be in
her academic or personal life.
‘Throughout her high school career Pilar has shown she is responsible, well-rounded, and passionate, For
example, if Pilar had to miss class for any reason, she frequently kept in touch with me through email to
make sure she made up any missed work. A few days did not set her back as Pilar is a quick leamer who
can grasp complex topics with ease. Additionally, she is a well-rounded individual who is skilled both
academically and musically. While these are all outstanding qualities, what stands out most about Pilar
is her passion and desire for a greater society. She took part in a Peace Pole unveiling for Merced High
School which reminds students and staff to visualize and hope for world peace. Pilar is involved in
student government as a member of the band council, she is also part of key club, girl scouts, and is the
captain of the drumline, She shows she can handle a heavy workload by maintaining her academics and
being a part of many extracurricular activities. These aspects of Pilar only give a window of insight to
her intelligence and kind-heartedness yet still show her full and promising potential.
As [noted at the start, I believe Pilar is a great individual and well deserving candidate. Her intellectual
ability, work ethic, interpersonal skills, and considerate personality will serve her extremely well for any
position in this field. If you need any additional information, feel free to contact me at 209-325-1000 or

To whom it may concern,
Thave had the pleasure of working with Pilar Yanez for the BERR ears while she has been
in the music program at Merced High School. Pilar is a hard-working student that actively seeks
‘ways of improving herself and her education,
Pilar is the kind of person who excels at everything she does. She has a wonderful rapport with
her section and everyone she develops a relationship with. She is eager to enrich her education
seeking out additional ensembles to perform with such as Merced High School’s Symphonic
Band, Jaz Ensemble and Winter Percussion.
In addition to the music program, Ms. Yanez is highly motivated to excel in education, She has
maintained a high grade point average even though she has dedicated many hours to practice
outside of the school day. During her senior year, Pilar earned the right to represent the
percussion as percussion captain.
Pilar is a pleasure to be around and has a wonderful rapport with other students.
She will be successful at whatever she chooses to do and is an excellent role model as a student
and person. Pilar has my highest recommendation for employment.
