One person that I appreciate and will continue to is my aunt, Blanca.

I met her

when I was nine years old, but she didn’t have a big impact on my life until my

sophomore year of high school. I used to believe that I had good grades, as long as I

passed with D or better. My freshman year, I was just getting through my classes, I

didn’t try to go for a good grade or anything. Once she starting talking to me about my

future, I started to take school a little more seriously. She has one of those never give

up attitudes. She is one of the nicest and most caring people that I know. The thing that

makes her an amazing person however, is that she doesn’t just tell others what they

want to hear, but she tells them what she needs to hear. She pointed out my academic

strengths, which were mostly math related, and told me to make them shine. She also

took my weakness, which was reading and writing, and told me to challenge myself and

improve. In my Jr year of high school, I took classes that suited me a little more, instead

of just choosing without caring too much about it. She helped me choose my classes

and I grew really interested in some of the subjects. I thought that forensic science

would be the better choice for me, but she told me to take a bigger challenge and take

something that I would struggle with a little more. I decided to take physics and that

became my favorite class. I always thought that science classes were the worst, but

now I find them the most interesting and I can’t wait for the science classes which I will

take in college. Jr year was the year where I got my best grades, I B- was the lowest

semester grade that I saw for any class that year. This year I took classes to challenge

me even more. Once again she gave me a few recommendations on classes and once
again I feel like I made the right choices. I completed the first semester of my senior

year of high school with a 3.71 GPA.
