Every human being has his own way of expressing his mood, including decorating his
body, not only with clothes but painting his body with tattoos. At this time tattoo fans are
dominated by young people because they easily feel bored with their routine activities and
like to try new things in their lives. The use of tattoos can be representative of expressing an
emotional feeling. Tattoos can be pictures that can have many meanings. The existence of
tattoos in Indonesia is increasingly recognized by the existence of communities. But the use
of tattoos supports the existence of pros and cons in society.

In terms of health, tattoos have many negative effects. Many health cases occur in
people who have used tattoos. Making tattoos with non-sterile devices increases the risk of
infection with viruses, bacteria, or fungi such as HIV or hepatitis. The infectious bacterial
species, Mycobacterium chelonae, which causes painful rashes that last for months. Allergic
reactions can be caused by ink used. Because until now there is still no evidence to show that
tattoo ink materials are safe to inject into the body. Dyes or metals from these inks can injure
the tissue or cause swelling or rashes on the skin

Tattoos in social perspectives are associated with crime, thugs, and other bad images.
Someone who has a tattoo is considered to be rarely a member of a religious group in any
form, this is reinforced by religious teachings that forbid people to tattoo their limbs so that
using tattoos is identical to rebellion against the order of social and religious values.

The phenomenon of tattoos has become part of certain groups of people. Pros and
cons of tattoos in the community also still exist. Tattoos also have a bad meaning for the user,
but there are also those who think tattoos are works of art, it is necessary to consider when
you decide to tattoo the body and need attention to the long-term health impacts caused by
tattooing activities.
