My whole life has consisted of winning medals and trophies because my parents put me

in sports at a young age. With the competitive family I was born into, there was only one option

and that was to win. If I ever lost, I was put down for it. Maybe that isn’t good but honestly it

helped me to want to win that much more. Since I got such a negative reaction to losing, when I

won it was a huge celebration. That thrill of winning and being praised is so rewarding to me. I

went through a lot to become a winner because winning doesn’t just come from having skill, but

it comes from being confident and knowledgeable in whatever you are doing. Softball is what

became my number one, even though I played tons of other sports, this one just stuck with me. I

became an all around great player. This is what lead me to winning MVP my Sophomore year

from Merced High School Varsity Softball. It was an amazing accomplishment because that year

I had big shoes to fill. I was mentored by Bubba Nickles the year before and she taught me a lot

about being a leader. I was proud to accept MVP because it reassured me that I did all that I

could to be as great as everyone wanted me to be. Softball is very dear to my heart because of

how long I have been playing and winning this just proved to myself that I am valuable. Playing

softball is where all of my confidence comes from, and I am so grateful. It also made me happy

to win this because it made my family proud, especially my dad. Making my dad happy is my

biggest blessing because even in this messed up world, I know that my success will always keep

my dad happy. Winning MVP is something that means so much to me, and I am very proud of

all my accomplishments.
