To Whom It May Concern:

-1 am pleased to recommend Stephanie Edge as a teacher for Special/or General Education.

Stephanie was a Michigan State University intern with me from January 6, 2013-April26, 2013
at Wilcox Elementary School in the Holt Public School District, Holt, Michigan. Her placement
at Wilcox (K-4) was in a Resource Room setting which provides services/or interventions to
Special Education (EI, LD, OHI, AI) and RTI Tier III students in Reading, Writing and Math.

During her placement, Stephanie became fully involved with all aspects of teaching and
attending meetings. She participated in Professional Development, Grade Level Data, Building
Leadership Team, Problem Solving Team (PST), Parent/teacher conferences, METs and IEPs.
She also attended two sessions of START (Statewide Autism Resource & Training). These
sessions involved Peer-to- Peer Support and the Development and Implementation of IEPs.
Stephanie works well with all staff members and personnel. She was able to collaborate and
participate in discussions and accept feedback easily. Stephanie came to school early and stayed
late many times during her internship. Her positive involvement was highly noted.

Within the resource room setting, Stephanie exhibited a genuine interest and respect for all
students. Her lesson plans reflected advance preparation and organization. She taught researched
based lessons with fidelity. She was actively involved with weekly progress monitoring of
students utilizing AIMS. Her quiet voice and manner with all students created a positive
environment in which all students responded. She embraced the PBIS system of being Safe,
Responsible and Respectful for all students. Students liked her very much and responded well to
her. She provided specific praise appropriately to provide immediate feedback and also to
continue students' motivation.

In summary, Stephanie is very competent and presents herself as a professional. She is very
student oriented and creates a learning environment to help foster learning in all students. She
readily accesses the Internet to increase her teaching knowledge and student learning. She is very
knowledgeable of student sites for Reading and Math that may benefit student success. She
exhibits knowledge of best practices and research based education. Her quiet manner is a positive
approach when working with children or relating to other staff members. Stephanie will be a
positive addition to any school system. It was a pleasure to have Stephanie as an intern.
