Travelling through the sky

Tourist influx in Himachal Pradesh ranges

anywhere between 10,000 to 25,000 tourists.
Being one of the most preferred destinations
for vacations, both nationals and foreigners
tourists travel to Himachal Pradesh via
Highway or toy train to Shimla, the sole two
ways to get here since Shimla Airport had
ceased to operate since 2012.
But now *hold your breath* a new avenue of
travelling will be there that will cover a
journey through the air, literally, from
Parwanoo to Shimla. With a journey of about
two hours, passengers would be able to
transcend the journey through the clouds,
admiring beautiful view of hills. It will be the
first ever ‘HINDOLA’ ropeway project of this
sort in Asia which will be budgeting around
Rs. 300 Crores covering 90 kilometres of area.
Central Government will take up this
anticipated project.
The project as decided will accommodate 25
passengers in one trolley or a similar kind of
travel portal. From Parwanoo to Shimla, with
stops at Kasauli, Bharog, Kandaghat, Taradevi,
and final stop at Shimla, the tourists can plan
accordingly like, for Chail, one can get off
from station at kandaghat. Likewise, all the
necessary consideration will be made for the
tourists. Construction of Hotels, multiplex and
parks will be made near the stations.
With ‘Hindola’ this problem of traffic on
highways would also be reduced up to some
extent.
Recently, from Gurgaon to Manesar, a 25
kilometres long ropeway became operational.
With its success, Central government has
agreed to provide new avenues in other
states in field of transport with increasing
problems relating to travel and transport.
Central Government has given an open
invitation to Himachal Pradesh Government
to prepare and send the proposal of this
project to the Ministry of Road Transport and
Highways, Himachal Pradesh.
Central Minister Nitin Gadkari and Transport
Minister G.S. Bali has discussed about this
new project on Friday.
G.S. Bali says, “I have discussed about this
project with the Central Government, Central
Minister Gadkari has agreed to assent this to
the State. With this project, Himachal will
attain a new level in the world tourism”
He further adds, “Hindola Project will also
bring relief to the problem of traffic. No other
Project would be better to boost tourism in
the Himachal Pradesh”
Even after the assent, the project will take
years to finally become operational, till then
we can only imagine how it feels to travel at
the cloud 9!
