Dear father 5/15/19

Last week my teacher introduced the class to “Genius Hour- Shark Tank”! This is research unit
that allows me to learn about a topic of my choice.

Let me explain more about Genius Hour. Genius hour is a experiment that we are doing. We
basically are trying to find our passions and make it in real life. For example there was this one
kid who really loved socks and they made their own business about socks and they went to this
place called shark tank. That is where the kids bring in their project and the shark tank judges
will judge them. They made profit from selling it to other people.

As preparation for this unit we watched the ABC’s television show “Shark Tank.” We were able
to learn about kids like us that were able to turn their PASSIONS into PRODUCTS to make a
PROFIT.

Some of the things I saw on Shark Tank were little kids presenting their projects and the shark
tank judged what they made.

Since watching the show I have come up with a Genius Project that I must work on over spring
break.

Topic: Recycling

Project Idea: Making a trailer from imovie about recycling

Plan: Downloading imovie or buying a movie related app

Product: What I will have to present a mini movie about recycling.

Steps I have to take to Download a good movie app, making a movie and writing scripts
complete the project:

This Project is important to me because i always liked watching movies and wanted to make my
own movie.
I want to make a movie about recycling and teach people the importance about
recycling
As my parent, there are many ways to help. You can help me expand my ideas and find
resources. You can also help me by letting me use your galaxy 10s plus to record on it and
download a app called imovie.
