Revised Internal Rules for the Group of Notified Bodies

At the 45th meeting of the GNB-CPR Advisory Group, it was decided to make some minor changes to
the internal rules for the Group of Notified Bodies.

Changes have been made to the Terms of reference for the GNB Advisory Group (NB-CPR/IR/2) and
to the Terms of Reference for Sector Groups (NB-CPR/IR/3).

For the Terms of Reference for the GNB-Advisory Group, the changes are:

- Whilst maintaining consensus as the general principle, the conditions for majority decisions
have been made clearer.
- References to the Standing Committee on Construction (SCC) have been removed as the role
of that committee has changed.
- More clear rules for the election of GNB President if two candidates have the same number
of votes.
- Made more clear that documents of the GNB Advisory Group are to be made available to
members – not to be published.

For the Terms of Reference for Sector Groups, the changes are:

- New principles for the allocation of EADs have been included. EADs are allocated on the
basis of the technical area codes defined by CPR Annex IV. A new Annex B has been
included.
- References to Guidelines for European Technical Approvals (ETAGs) and the corresponding
EOTA committees have been removed.
- The conditions for remote monitoring of SG meetings have been defined.
- A new Sector Group 22 has been defined for cables to EN 50575.
- References to AVCP systems have been removed from annex A
