SCHEDULE –G

(See Clause 13.1)

DESIGNS AND DRAWINGS

1 Designs and Drawings

1.1 In compliance of the obligations set forth in Clause 13.1 of this Agreement, the Company
shall furnish to the Government, free of cost, all Designs and Drawings listed in Annex-I
of this Schedule-G; provided that the Designs and Drawings relevant for review design
by the Government as specified in Clause 13.1.2 shall be submitted prior to such review
and the remaining Designs and Drawings shall be submitted progressively during
indigenization of Locomotives.

1.2 For the purposes hereof, Design shall mean and include plans and drawings of the
Locomotive or sub-system or equipment thereof. It shall also include the particulars of
the original equipment manufacturer, if any (the “OEM”). For the avoidance of doubt,
design data shall, to the extent applicable, include dimensions, weight, efficiency, Finite
Element Method (FEM) analysis and bearing life. It shall also include, where applicable,
power consumption, voltage, current, device and other ratings of electrical equipment.
Plans shall, to the extent applicable, include the safety assurance plan, interface
management plan, quality assurance plan, Electro-magnetic Compatibility (EMC)
management plan and Reliability, Availability, Maintenance and Safety (RAMS)
management plan.

1.3 All Designs shall include the maintenance and service manual of the respective sub-
systems.

1.4 All Designs and Drawings shall be supplied in hard copy, in duplicate, and in electronic
form on Compact Disk (CD) / Digital Video Disk (DVD), along with the software and
two sets of hardware to read and edit the same. All Drawings shall be provided in auto
cad format.

1.5 All Designs and Drawings shall conform to and refer to the relevant provisions in the
Specifications and Standards.

1.6 All Designs and Drawings shall be in English.

2 Additional designs and drawings

If the Government determines that for discharging its duties and functions under this
Agreement, it requires any designs or drawings other than those listed in Annex-I, it may
by notice require the Company to prepare and furnish such designs and drawings
forthwith. Upon receiving a requisition to this effect, the Company shall promptly
prepare and furnish such designs and drawings to the Government as if such designs and
drawings formed part of Annex-I of this Schedule-G.

Annex - I
(Schedule-G)

List of Designs and Drawings

1 The Company shall provide the Designs and Drawings of the following:

1.1 Locomotive: The Design shall include (a)length over headstock/buffers; (b) distance
between bogie centers; (c) distance between axles of the bogie; (d) maximum height with
wheels in new condition; (e) maximum height of the cab with new wheels; (f) minimum
height above rail level of any component with fully worn wheels; (g) reduction in the
minimum height on account of spring/rigging failure; (h) diameter of the new wheel over
tread; (i) wheel profile; (j) the centre of gravity above rail level; (k) axle load range; (m)
unsprung mass; (l) adhesive weight of the Locomotive; (m) sharpest negotiable curve;
(n) maximum buffing load; (o) maximum geared, safe vehicular, service speed with new,
half worn and fully worn wheels; (p) minimum and maximum speed using continuous
rating; (q) maximum tractive effort on tail with 5º curve; and (r) tractive effort
corresponding to continuous rated speed.

1.2 Diesel Engine:The Design shall include (a) general arrangement drawing; (b)
compression ratio; and (c) firing pressure.

1.3 Alternator: The Design shall include(a)continuous rating of windings; (b) permissible
duty cycle; (c) Number of poles; (d) Number of phase connections; (e) Max. permissible
speed; (h) Max. current; and (f) General arrangement drawing.

1.4 Turbo-charger: The Design shall include(a) general assembly drawing; and (b) details
of booster air pressure; (c) Number of Turbo-chargers; and (d) Number of stages.

1.5 Power converterand auxiliary converter:The Design shall include (a) cooling system
details including air/water flow rates and arrangement of filtered air; (b) noise level; and
(c) the permissible power loss.

1.6 Locomotive control system: The Design shall include (a) complete functional
description; (b) details of faults to be displayed in driving cab and to be stored in
permanent memory; (c) procedure for downloading the details of faults from memory; (d)
details of fault protection; and (e) control schemes of all sub-systems including braking.

1.7 Traction motor:The Design shall include (a) gear ratio; (b) traction motor characteristics
under the environment and service conditions specified in the Specifications and
Standards; (c) estimated temperature rise of stator winding; (d) air flow, ventilation to
Watt loss ratio; (e) maximum designed test and service speed; (f) details of insulation;
(g) details of the bearings; (h) fits and clearances adopted; (i) details of lubrications to be
used in gear case and bearings; and (j) traction motor performance curves.

1.8 Gears and pinions: The Design shall include (a) ‘k’ and ‘p’ value; and (b) particulars of
gear case.

1.9 Auxiliary machines & blowers:The Design shall include (a) starting current and torque;
(b) torque speed characteristics at various voltages; (c) speed; (d) power factor and slip of
the motor; (e) type of enclosure; (f) type of conductor insulation; (g) terminals and
terminals block; (h) material of core stampings and average flux density; (i) clearance; (j)
tolerance; (k) details of (i) cooling fan and (ii) bearing including size.

1.10 Contactors / MCB:The Design shall include (a) making and breaking capacity; (b)
number of auxiliary contacts with control circuit’s voltage; (c) magnet valve and coil
details; and (d) mechanical and electrical endurance test data.

1.11 Brake equipment: The Design shall include(a) making and breaking current; (b)
positions of reverser; (c) main handle and auxiliary interlocks; (d) mechanical and
electrical endurance test data; and (e) interface between regenerative and pneumatic
brake.

1.12 Relays: The Design shall include(a) range of setting; (b) rated control voltage; (c) type of
enclosure; (d) permissible rise in temperature; (e) indication system; and (f) mechanical
and electrical endurance test data.

1.13 Compressor: The Design shall include(a) number of stages; (b) rated speed; (c)
maximum air pressure; (d) graph showing Free Air Delivery (FAD) against 8, 9 and 10
kg/cm² pressures; (e) maximum permissible temperature at inlet and exhaust ports; (f)
details of drive arrangement and coupling; and (g) lubrication requirements.

1.14 Battery charger:The Design shall include(a) capacity; and (b) ripple content.

1.15 Isolating and programme switches: The Design shall include(a) short time current; (b)
description and details of interlocking arrangement; (c) number of auxiliary contacts; and
(d) mechanical and electrical endurance test data.

1.17 Auxiliary compressor: The Design shall include (a) capacity and pressure; (b) speed;
and (c) motor rating.

1.18 Cab air conditioner system: The Design shall include functional description of system
including controls.

1.19 Auxiliary generator: The Design shall include (a) permissible rise in temperature; and
(b) details of winding scheme.

1.20 Speed control equipment: The Design shall include functional description of the
equipment.
1.21 Locomotive brakes and Parking brake: The Design shall include (a) brake effort
calculations; (b) parking brake calculations; (c) interfacing of service brake and parking
brake; (d) braking curves for the Locomotive; and (e) braking distance calculations under
gross load condition at maximum permissible operating speed at level track.

1.22 Bogie frame including brake rigging and suspension: The Design shall include (a)
traction motor mounting arrangement if any; (b) unsprung mass; (c) primary and
secondary suspension; (d) bolster arrangement; (e) axle floating arrangement; (f) strength
of bogie frame and major bogie components under static and dynamic loading conditions;
(g) Vogel’s layout for 10º curve and 1 in 8½ turnout for negotiability of bogie; (h) throw
over at head stock coupler; (i) movement of bogie parts with details of clearances; (j)
estimation of flange forces on curves and turn outs; (k) bogie frame section views; (l)
arrangement of traction linkages, suspension system; and (m) connection between bogie
and body.

1.23 Wheel Set: The Design shall include (a) heat capacity; (b) details of bearing and
lubrication; (c) details of wheels, axles and roller bearings including maximum stress
under fatigue loading conditions and anticipated service life; (d) weight distribution
indicating lateral and longitudinal balance; and (e) method of adjustment of wheel and
axle load.

1.24 Axle: The Design shall include (a) stress calculations; (b) static and dynamic load rating;
and (c) safety factor in loading.

1.25 Axle box: The Design shall include (a) details of bearing and lubrication; and (b) bearing
life calculations.

1.26 Wireless remote control equipment: The Design shall include functional description of
the equipment.

1.27 Control of Locomotives in multiple: The Design shall include (a) control arrangements;
and (b) fault indications protocol.

1.28 Fire detection and extinguishing equipment: The Design shall include details of
interface with other systems.

1.29 CBC: The Design shall include the installation details including vertical and longitudinal
positioning.

1.30 Power and control cables and connections: The Design shall include (a) sizes; (b)
loadings; and (c) installation.

1.31 End lighting: The Design shall include the installation details.

1.32 Event recorder: The Design shall include functional description of the equipment.
2. Other Designs

The Company shall also provide the following details of the Design of the Locomotive:

(a) strength and vibration analysis of the under-frame under static and dynamic
loading conditions using FEM;
(b) projected stability and riding performance of the Locomotive using mathematical
modeling technique with parameters of suspension system and dimensional
details adopted for track standards;
(c) weight and centre gravity of each equipment together with weight unbalance
calculations;
(d) adhesion calculations;
(e) calculations for lateral and longitudinal equipment balancing;
(f) calculations for tractive and braking effort versus speed curves showing balancing
speed;
(g) equipment ratings and performance requirements;
(h) curves of efficiency, power factor, frequency and slip as a function of speed;
(i) coil springs of primary and secondary suspensions;
(j) harmonic calculations;
(k) air supply by the compressor and consumption of air by equipments;
(l) maximum moving dimension calculations;
(m) calculations of EMC parameters;
(n) calculations of crashworthiness and collision protection;
(o) reliability calculations, predictions, and mitigations including redundancy
provision;
(p) hazard identification, safety assessments and mitigations; and
(q) centre buffing force calculations.

3 Drawings

The Company shall also provide the following Drawings:

(a) outline diagram of the Locomotive having front and side elevations and plan at a
scale of 1 in 25 and at least one longitudinal and transverse section;
(b) general layout of all equipments in the Locomotive body including driving cab
layout, driver’s desk layout, driver’s visibility diagram, locomotive lifting
arrangement, location of jacking pads and bogie retention arrangement;

(c) under-frame arrangement and section views giving details of buffer beam, side
sills, arrangement for centre coupling, buffer and ballast provision;

(d) sanding arrangement, details of sanding valves and sand box cover with sealing;

(e) arrangement of return current brushes;

(f) lubrication diagram with lubricant brands and quantities;

(g) arrangement of air piping;

(h) schematic diagram of power, dynamic braking, control and auxiliary circuits
including multiple operations;

(i) tractive effort transmission diagram;

(j) brake system diagram;

(k) master controller-drawing showing driving controls, interlocks and pneumatic and
mechanical connections;

(l) arrangement of traction motor cooling duct;

(m) power converter cooling arrangement;

(n) arrangement for wheel slip detection and correction system;

(o) ventilation arrangement of machine room;

(p) air system pneumatic drawing;

(q) layout of Locomotive on curves including reverse curves showing coupler,;

(r) arrangement of Centre Buffer Coupler (CBC), side buffer installation, draw gear,
and connections at Locomotive ends;

(s) maximum moving dimension drawing showing extreme cases including curve
overthrows; and

(t) general arrangement drawings for other equipments or assemblies used by the
Company.
