It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Laura Tweed who is my student at
Merced High School. Laura is without a question one of the most responsible and dedicated
students I have taught in my medical program. It is Laura’s desire to pursue a career in nursing
after obtaining her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.

Laura is an intelligent and focused thinker with a devotion to her academics as well as her extra-
curricular responsibilities. Laura is invaluable in collaborative interactions with her peers,
working on clinical projects, including research. She offers peer support when needed and
provides valuable insight to group discussions.

Laura, while maintaining a 3.9 GPA, has participated in many of our schools varsity level
athletics, including track, water polo and swim, where she earned the coaches award and most
improved. Laura’s ambition and drive is a quality that I highly admire.

I wholeheartedly recommend Laura for the candidate of academic scholarship. Laura is kind,
compassionate and a truly good person. She will add a great deal to the medical profession and
the community in which she chooses to work. I envision her as a highly competent and caring
