5 tips in case you are going to visit the Republic of Moldova

I have already confessed that the Republic of Moldova is not a spectacular country, but it is
worth spending a few days there. From the pleasure of enjoying natural landscapes and visiting
beautiful places to the one of admiring the local’s simple lifestyle, this country has a few things
to offer to its tourists. The small territory of Moldova was both part of Romania and Russia,
before becoming an independent country. It goes without saying that the blend between these
two different cultures can be felt all over the country, especially if you have visited Romania
and Russia before you get here. In case you decide to visit the Republic of Moldova, maybe the
following tips might help you enjoy your trip to the fullest:

1.Above all things, it’s important to plan your trip itinerary in detail. As I have already said,
Moldova has a few beautiful places to offer and it will be a pity not to discover as many as you
can. For example, I combined Chisinau with a few other famous Moldovan tourist attractions
and this decision helped me have a great time there. It was a real delight to explore Sorocca
Fortress, to admire the old blue houses of Butuceni, to find out the history of wine in the local
wine cellars or to feel the simple and relaxing vibe of Chisinau. However, you should take into
account the fact that you will need at least four or five days to enjoy all these experiences.

2. Whether you are or not a wine lover, you cannot leave Moldova without plunging into the
world of wine. Moldova is famous for its large vineyards with different varieties of grapes, and
it goes without saying that it’s one of the perfect places where you can find out a lot of details
about the history and the manufacturing process of wine. Brands such as Cricova, Milestii Mici,
Purcari or Chateau Vartely are just a few examples of quality Moldovan wines. The country is
considered a kind of paradise of wines and it offers the possibility of visiting a few interesting
wineries and wine cellars. I visited the wine cellars of Cricova Winery and the Chateau Vartely
Resort and Winery and both experiences were great.

3. If there is something you can do excessively in Moldova, food is the correct answer. The
Moldovan local cuisine is a blend between Romanian and Russian cuisines and it is simply
delicious. A lot of quality natural products are used in the preparation of the Moldovan tasty
dishes. I simply love their traditional pies, especially those with cheese and fruit, their
traditional soups, especially beer soup and soleanca and their fish and seafood specialties. This
is one of the countries where you have that feeling of eating at your grandmother’s home.

4.The best way to travel across the country and enjoy the beautiful Moldovan tourist
attractions is by car. In case you choose this means of transport, my advice is to respect the
traffic rules because this way you will avoid taking a traffic ticket. You should know that a lot of
police cars control the public roads all over the country and the risk of taking a traffic ticket is
very high.
5.You should let yourself delighted by the peaceful vibe of this country. The Republic of
Moldova gives you the feeling that you have come back in time for a few decades. People seem
to be not so absorbed by technology and by the social networks and you can see a lot of them
speaking to each other, rather than just staring at their phones. The country is also blessed with
natural landscapes and the image of the old villages seem to be cut out of fairy tales.

All things considered, you should set your expectations in a proper way and plan a trip in the
Republic of Moldova, because on the average it is worth visiting.
