ABSTRACT:

The main aim of this research is to analyse and find whether custom website designing
or template website designing is good for business in coming years. This study is quantitative.
The questionnaire was designed and distributed among various people in and around
Coimbatore. The sample of this study consist 50 people. SPSS was used to analysis that data.

The results of the study indicated that the respondent have different ways in which they
use both template and custom website designing for business, which includes professional
business like Entertainment E-Commerce, Service Based Industry, Manufacturing Sectors, and
Non-Profit Organizations.

Certain respondent use template website designing for their business like Photography,
Fan Club Website, Blogging, Translator, and Writers, however this is just small percentage in
the data, the world of template design will evolve better and better which most people will
notice and try to use template website designing, however people will not be satisfied with the
benefits that template website design provides them, so finally the Custom website designing
is best choice for creating a website for business in coming years.

A client is your regular customer. He is buying your products or services daily or

contractually. Having a website gives you a chance to gain more clients that can help your
business grow. These are few of the advantages and benefits of creating a website for your
business.

Importance of Website Design:

 Websites are important if you want to compete with the modern marketers.

 Don’t take it as a trend, Websites are another major tool of marketing.

 Always create a business website for your business, not with the objective to print it on
your visiting card.

 It’s not a newspaper, it’s a powerful marketing tool. Take its benefits.

 Business website means a website which generates business for you, not one which have

1.1 OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY:

 To Find whether creating website using custom website designing or template website
designing is best for business.

1.2 NEED FOR THE STUDY:

The study focuses on deciding whether custom website designing or template website
designing is more efficient for business in the coming years. The growth of template design
has caused a great deal of impact on people and business professional who are looking for ways
to create website for their business or other purposes.

A website template (or web template) is a pre-designed webpage, or set of HTML

webpages that anyone can use to "plug-in" their own text content and images into to create a
website. Usually built with HTML and CSS code, website templates allow anyone to setup a
website without having to hire a professional web developer or designer, although, many
developers do use website templates to create sites for their clients.

Custom website design is the process of creating a unique web page to suit an
individual, topic or brand's certain requirements. It's everything from layout to user experience.
Web designers consider the site's audience, function and traffic when constructing their designs

This past one year or so template website designing has been for popular among
blogger and people who are interested in making money through website. Therefore this study
studies and explains why and how whether template website designing or custom website
designing is effective for business in the coming years.

1.3 SCOPE OF THE STUDY:

The study has a significant and relevant impact on people who are trying to start their
own business, however they have no way of verifying which type of method from template
website designing or custom website designing will be efficient for their business. In recent
years the template website has been popular for people who create website for business and
other purposes, this is also taken in account and studied in order provide a more adequate
results.

1.4 LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY:

 As the sample is only taken for 50 % of the total population, so this cannot be attributed
to complete population
 The process of filling up of questionnaire has taken up so much time as most of the
people were not aware of the concepts and terms.
 As the time period is short, the sample size is restricted to 50 people.
 To determine a specific quality and cause, there has to be so many questions.
 Less responds from entrepreneur.

1.5 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:

The study was conducted the discussion of search design the respondents of the discussion of
the study, the instrumentation and the statistical tools used to analyse data.

METHOD OF THE STUDY

The descriptive survey method of research was applied on this study. This method
designed to gather information about the present, existing conditions. The main objective of
this method is employed to describe the nature of the situation exist at the time of the study.
The method involves collection of data in order to test the hypothesis or to answer questions
concerning the installed values of respondents of the study.

RESEARCH DESIGN

This study utilized a descriptive method of research, which can be defined as a

purposive process of gathering and analysing, classifying and organization data about existing
condition and making adequate interpretation about such data whenever possible, valid general
conclusion could be drawn from the facts discovered.

A survey dealing with people’s perception and feelings in concretion with sociological
and psychological variables would be classified as a survey research. And whenever a group
of subject differs from itself and one desire to know in what ways and to what extent these
objects differs from one another, the descriptive approach is appropriate.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT

The instrument used to collect data was the questionnaire. The questionnaire has
variables formulated to gather related data. The researcher utilized the teacher-made
questionnaire structured in such way that it elicited answer to the specific problems and the
formulated null hypothesis. The researcher had relevant readings from books, theses, reports,
and the like to provide her idea on how to proceed and construct the questionnaire.

RESPONDENTS DATA [ SAMPLE SIZE]

The main source of data was derived from the questionnaire given that were answered
by fifty (50) people in and around Coimbatore.

THE VALIDATION OF QUESTIONNAIRE

The questionnaire was validated through the following steps: first, the researcher
prepared the preliminary draft and submitted to the project guide for improvement. Second, the
researcher improved the final draft by the help of the adviser due to some changes, which were
needed to include in the research.

SOURCES OF DATA

The respondents who contribute in this study were the people of different age groups
from in and around Coimbatore.

DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

The questionnaire was delivered to the people through google forms. The
questionnaires were delivered to respondent also. Personal interviews to the respondents were
also conducted.

TYPE OF SAMPLING TECHNIQUE:

The method of random sampling is used to analyse and interpret the results, (i.e.) all
the categories of the population are given equal chances and there is no selective perception.

STUDY PROFILE

Web design refers to the design of websites that are displayed on the internet. It usually
refers to the user experience aspects of website development rather than software development.
Web design used to be focused on designing websites for desktop browsers; however, since
the mid-2010s, design for mobile and tablet browsers has become ever-increasingly important.

A web designer works on the appearance, layout, and, in some cases, content of a
website. Appearance, for instance, relates to the colors, font, and images used. Layout refers to
how information is structured and categorized. A good web design is easy to use, aesthetically
pleasing, and suits the user group and brand of the website. Many webpages are designed with
a focus on simplicity, so that no extraneous information and functionality that might distract or
confuse users appears. As the keystone of a web designer’s output is a site that wins and fosters
the trust of the target audience, removing as many potential points of user frustration as possible
is a critical consideration.

Two of the most common methods for designing websites that work well both on
desktop and mobile are responsive and adaptive design. In responsive design, content moves
dynamically depending on screen size; in adaptive design, the website content is fixed in layout
sizes that match common screen sizes. Preserving a layout that is as consistent as possible
between devices is crucial to maintaining user trust and engagement. As responsive design can
present difficulties in this regard, designers must be careful in relinquishing control of how
their work will appear. If they are responsible for the content as well, while they may need to
broaden their skillset, they will enjoy having the advantage of full control of the finished
product.

 In todays, competitive environment, the online presence of an organization or an
industry on the internet plays a very significant role to promote, advertise and sell their goods
and services to worldwide users.

Everything about your website (content, way it looks, images) is determined by the web
design. The process of collecting ideas, a process of aesthetically arranging and implementing
them, which is guided for some specific purpose by certain principles, is called as design. In
simple words, web design is the process of conceptualizing, planning and building the
collection of electronic files. It represents the layout, colors, text, structure, graphics, images,
etc that delivers pages to your site visitors. Most commonly there are two types of methods for
web designing which works well on desktop and mobile both:

 Responsive Design- In responsive design, the content moves dynamically which

depends upon the screen size. It can present the difficulties in some sections; therefore
designers must be careful in relinquishing the control of work.

 Adaptive Design- In this design, the website content is fixed in the layout size which
can match to each and every common screen size. Hence, they will enjoy having the
advantages of full control of the finished product.

This is essential especially when your website has so many pages. It basically includes
a well-labeled navigation bar or a menu that shows a list of the different web pages. When the
website navigation is developed well, users can easily explore and understand your website. It
doesn’t need to have state of the art typefaces. Settle for a simple yet intuitive navigation that
can make visitors come back for more.

 These also include the choice of font and other typographic details. Such aspects of web
design should go along together to deliver an accurate message to the audience. In most cases,
readers tend to remember the message when it is concise and something that the readers can

However, overdoing these elements won’t bring any good to your website, Web pages
with too much content will look messy and can affect conversion rates. How? Visually clutter
pages may be difficult to read, resulting in disinterest in visitors and making them not wanting
to come back.

To avoid that from happening, it is best to streamline the content wherein website
designers can easily incorporate the text in their design. Moreover, designers are able to add
negative or empty spaces that let the readers’ eyes rest in the middle of their reading.

consistency.

 Template Website Designing:

Generally, a web designer works on the appearance, layout and in some case for the
content also. There are two types of templates in web designing which offers different
specification to their customers. The one is the ready-made template, which is most commonly
used by the startup companies due to low budget of their business. In these types of templates,
the user can manage the sort of designing part by their own. They can choose the templates
according to their choice, hence the content, images, videos, etc all these things can be managed
on their own.

From the table (4.1.1), 44% of respondents are in age range of 15-20 years , 14% of the
respondents are in age range of 21-25 years , and 28% of the respondents are in age range of
26-30 years and 14% are in age range of 31-35 years.

SUGGESTIONS

 Template website designing can be used for people to create website for who are just
starting the business.
 Custom website designing can be used for professional work and a work or a project which
has to be protected with high security because of the confidentiality required by the
customer needs.
 Template website designing can be used for work like blogging, Translator, Photography
etc.. based on the needs of the customer is in the limit of what the template website function
can provide the customer.
 Template website designing for can be used to create website for more professional
business, if the needs and the wants of the customer is satisfied by template website
designing.

CONCLUSION

When it comes to business and websites the most prominent uses that most people use
website for their business is for awareness and marketing, additionally there are other reasons
like selling their products or service in wide range over the internet to people from all over the
world where their target customers resides in. There more and more reasons which put together
website and business, which is why it is important for people to how, an what method they can
create the website for their business effectively and efficiently.

In this research, the data collected from the questionnaire, the interpretation in bar chart
and the findings in chi-square, indicates, that template website designing can be used to create
websites if the needs and wants are satisfied by the customer on the other hand template website
designing can be used for small scale business like blogging, photography, translator, writer
etc.., if the cost is not a problem to the customer, he/she can create website using custom
website designing for the small scale business.

Finally, Custom website designing is best for business in the coming years, because of
the need creating a unique and well crafted website for the needs of the organization, because
the website is basically the representation of one way in which the organization presents them
self to the public or the society.
