Above all, the year began with a clear Soviet violation of the Yalta agreements with regard to
Poland. The elections were held in January took place in an atmosphere of freedom and lack of
arbitrariness that allowed the triumph of the Communist candidates. 1 The Truman Doctrine: In
February 1947 an alarming note of the British government came to Washington. It was
reported to Truman and his new Secretary of State, George Marshall, that the London
government was unable to continue supporting the Conservative government of Athens in its
fight against the Greek communist guerrillas. Germany which was divided into two parts after
World War II, controlled by USA, FRANCE AND ENGLAND party allied and gave their respective
parts to USA, being under American hegemony, this made USSR resented and began to close
borders between Germany and its share of the German part of USA, resulting in the breaking
of diplomatic relations, then the arms race and spacecraft begins to see that power was more
powerful and adding the U.S. geostrategic interest on these areas are the most important
causes that led to the cold War political reasons, ideological and power.
