A hyphotesis is an assumption about something Hyphotesis testing is about testing to

see whether the stated hyphotesis is acceptable or not during the hyphotesis testing, we
want to gather as much data as we can so that we can prove our hyphotesis one way or
another. These is a proper four step method in performing a proper hyphotesis test:

 Write the hyphotesis

 Create an analysis plan
 Analyze the data
 Interpret the results

Hyphotesis testing is basically an assumption that we make about the population

parameter. These are some key terms and concepts in hyphotesis testing which are as
follows:

 Null hyphotesis
 Alternative hyphotesis
 Level of significance
 Type of error
 Type two error
 Power
 One tailed test
 Two tailed test

Every test in hyphotesis testing produces the significance value for that particular test.
In hyphotesis testing if the significance value of the test is greater than the
predetermined significance level then we accept the null hyphotesis. If the significance
value is less than the predetermined value than we should reject the null hyphotesis.
