ActNo.26 (2) Within the division of Calitzdorp the said assistant
ef 1913. resident magistrate shall possess all the powers and jurisdic-
tion, and shall carry out all the duties and obligations, con-
ferred or imposed by the said Act No. 40 of 1889 or by any
other law upon the civil commissioner, but he shail not
thereby acquire the status of a civil commissioner.
5. The provisions of Act No, 24 of 1858 of the Cape of
Act No. 91 of Good Hope shall, so far as the same are applicable, apply

ya, and Ladismith as constituted wnder this Act asif they were
named in the Schedule to Act No. 12 of 1857.
6. This Act may be cited for all purposes as the New Fiscal
Divisions (Cape) Act, 1913,

(1) The area which at the commencement of this Act is
co-terminous with the magisterial sub-district of Calitzdorp,
in the magisterial district and fiscal division of Oudtshoorn,
(2) So much of the following area as is not ineluded in the
said sub-district but is at the commencement of this Act in
the magisterial district and fiscal division of Oudtshoom,
namely, the area comprising the farms Cangoberg, Kruisrivier,
Buffelakloof, Uitvlugt, and part of Langverwacht.
(8) That portion of the division of Ladismith which at the
commencement of this Act is included in the fiscal division
of Ladismith and comprises the following farms :—Huisrivier,
Cloete, Crown, Halferown, Tijgerkloof, Danielskraal (including
the Outspan),’ Triangle, Rietvallei, Oudehuiskloof, Spitskop
and Groenfontein.

purchase, sale, hire or lease, or to any agreement or transaction
which is in contravention of this Act or any regulation made
thereunder shall be guilty of an offence and liable on
conviction to a fine not exceeding one hundred pounds or, in
default of payment, to imprisonment with or without hard
labour for a period not exceeding six months, and if the act
constituting the offence be a continuing one, the offender
shall be liable toa further fine not exceeding five pounds for
every day during which that aet continues,
