A Bully’s Perspective

I am a bully

But I wonder if they know why I treat people this way

I hear them begging me to stop

I see them crying and scared

What they don’t understand is that I want them to feel what I feel

I am a bully

I pretend to be tough, unbreakable

I feel in control when I make others feel small

I touch shattered pieces of my life and I wonder if there’s any glue that could put it back

together

I worry

I cry at night when I hear my dad yelling at my mom

He tells her she’s worthless and she believes him

I am a bully

I understand that what I am doing is wrong, but it feels right

I say that it’s not my fault, but everyone else’s

I dream that my parents will stop fighting and so happy my mom will be

I try to change, but it’s hard

I need an outlet for this rage that’s bottled up inside of me.

I hope one day everything will be ok, and I’ll be able to stop using my classmates as my

punching bag

I am a bully
