Summary of Research and Bibliography
With doing this type of project it took a lot of compiling different types of family groups
and who their children were and making sure when I wrote down when these people were born
and when they died. I found that the easiest way to organize all this information is to group every
single person by their last name and work my way up to somewhere in the 1600’s. I worked a lot
with my mentor putting all the different people into a genealogy chart and making sure all the
names were correct. My first steps into starting my project is to first discuss with my mentor on
how I should lay out my family tree and how much information I wanted to go into it. Then she
gave me information on how to use a genealogy chart and apply it to my family tree. So I
wouldn’t be lost in the process on how much data I would put in the family tree. Then started to
decide how far back I wanted my family tree to go back and I decided on the 1600s’s. After I
decided my time period I then started to group all different family groups by last name and put
them in the family tree. I first started with my friends dad’s side then I worked my way down to
my friends moms side. I made sure there were 8 generations of children in my family tree with 5
generations of parents.
