IRS
The IRS has received almost 100,000 complaints
from taxpayers who have received unsolicited
calls from individuals demanding payment
while fraudulently claiming to be from the IRS.
This can be especially troublesome to yacht
crewmembers, most of whom travel frequently.
Many crewmembers are away from home for extended periods of time.
This sometimes leaves doubt as to whether or not they may have lapsed in
filing a tax return or making an estimated tax payment. I have had several
clients and their families receive these calls and luckily none of them have
handed over confidential information.
Every year, our office has several clients that are contacted by individuals

us not only grieves the passing of Mel, but also for the loss his family
suffers. Mel had been in declining health for several months.
Mel and I worked together after meeting in the early 60’s working behind

(father, brother and uncle worked together with us.)
He joined our team over 35 years ago. He was an essential contributor
to the success of Roscioli Yachting Center. He was passionate about his
job working in the Stockroom and the kind of person to not object when
asked to do his job. COME FLY WITH US!
His sense of humor made it a delight for everyone who worked with him.
He continued his friendship with many outside contractors and captains
over the years. He was a former US Army veteran. Mel will be greatly
missed by everyone at RYC. He will be in our hearts and memories forever.
