Soccer does benefit your health because
● It lowers your body fat
● It helps build strength, flexibility and endurance
● It reduces the level of stress hormones
Lowers Body Fat
Soccer vs. Typical Workout:
● Soccer burns more calories because you’re switching between aerobic and
anaerobic exercise (Ben Prien, fitness expert)
● Burn more fat due to running and jogging
● Fast twitch fibers require stored glucose for energy, so using them releases
fat burning hormones.
Build strength, flexibility and endurance
● Strength can build while practice and playing soccer, also the upper leg muscles
need to be strong in order not to commonly strained and pulled.
● A soccer player who is able to react quickly due to their flexibility. Stretching

Reduce level of stress hormones
● Soccer can draw your concentration away from stress and focus of the
activity
● pumping up a sweat releases mood-boosting hormones inside the brain.

Service Learning Experience
● My purpose of choosing my SLE was to bring the Southeast Asian
community in Charlotte together to get them involved in physical activity
and enjoy playing soccer.
● I chose this SLE to help several people in the community to be healthy and to
come together.
● I helped several people in the community such as children, teens, and adults.
● I learned that soccer is a great opportunity to bring people together, to enjoy
playing soccer, and at the same time help with their health.
