Reflection

By: Raymon Edberson

I chose this topic because i feel like people judge others based on looks or what they
think they act like, but i believe it is always mostly portrayed against gang members. It
seems very unfair when people are judged or misjudged because others just because
they don’t understand. The obstacles that i have overcome are criticism and judgement
against me. I learned that when gang members do good in their communities it isnt to
support other gang members but it is for the good of the whole community. What i could
do differently is make my research is make it less extensive while still getting my point
across.

The reason why i chose this type of SLE is because i wanted to let students realize or
ponder the topic of gangs and let them see what they and their classmates perceive
about them. I didn’t really face any problems other than deciding what questions to put
into the survey. I learned that some people do believe in the positivity of gangs but most
don’t. Some things that i could do differently is try harder than i did to create or come up
with a way to actually help other people for my SLE.

I prepared for my presentation by presenting for my family and for my teacher Mr.
Ransom. I also created index cards for myself to help me remember my presentation
and what i wanted to say. Some obstacles i faced were being nervous, judgement from
others, grammar errors, and stutter. I feel like my presentation was well put together
and made sense after i presented it due to the name of the title. What i could do
differently is try to go over my presentation more to memorize it and try to to be so
nervous.
