Project Log

Tanner Hellevik
Total Hours: 15.5 Hours
Tuesday - April 23, 2019 8:20-8:35/1:00-1:15
I talked to Ms. Kreigh to find out what she wanted. Picked out the style/design that she liked the
best. Then came back later to find out the dimensions for the Bookshelf.
Friday April 26, 2019 6:00-8:00
Made my blueprints with the style and design. With the measurements that I think would work
best for what she is looking for.
Monday May 13, 2019 6:30-8:30
Went to Lowes and bought all of the lumber needed to complete the project. Looked at the Screw
we needed, but wanted to make sure we were buying the right ones. So we only bought the
wood.
Thursday May 16, 2019 6:00-7:00
Went and talked to Marvin Bronner. I showed him my blueprints and plans. We went over them
and he gave a few tips. He also told me what would work best or what we could do instead.
Saturday May 18, 2019 6:20-10:20
Marvin brought over all of his tools. We set them where we were going to cut. We started with a
mock trial. He brought some wood and tried with that before we started with the real wood. Once
the trial looked good we started with the real wood. Once it was cut, we sanded the shelves. Then
we primed the wood for painting later. Also primed the brackets to be painted.
Sunday May 19, 2019 6:20-10:20
We screwed the two legs together for each side. We drilled the brackets into the legs in each
desired spot for the shelves. Once those were screwed in, we moved the legs to the side. We cut
the railing/sides for the shelves. After those we cut we nailed, glued, and screwed it to the shelf.
We repeated that for each shelf. Then we used the belt sander to get the rails and shelves smooth.
Once that was done, we brought the two legs up and clamped them into the length apart we need.
Then we screwed each shelf into its desired bracket. Then I did some touch up with the primer.
Monday 20, 2019 6:00-8:00
We applied the finishing touches. We applied the final coat of paint. Making sure to not have any
missed spots or a bunch of paint in places. Then will let it dry for a few days
