5- year plan

In the next 5 years, I plan on going to college taking a culinary class. Cooking is what I

really enjoy because I cook with either my mom or sister and make food for everyone. Another

reason why I want to cook is because I want to make food for people in restaurants, and have

them love the food I make, which will make me very proud of myself. I haven’t ever took a

cooking class in high school because I will still wondering what I wanted to do for my future.

Beginning of my summer break before senior year, I got involved in cooking with my mom and

right away I fell in love with it. I knew what I wanted to do. It had me relaxed and I was really

enjoying the time I was having cooking with my mom. There is really nothing else I want to

major in because cooking is my passion and I believe I can succeed in it.

What I plan on for my financial plan is making sure I to college and and get the financial

aid I applied for. I also want to get a full time job so I make the most money I can. I want to get

a job that involves food and getting me used to the cooking environment and getting to know

the people I am going to be around. I would want to work with food that people eat everyday

and make sure they are getting what the price is worth. I would not want to make them think

the restaurant I work in is a bad place and make them not want to come back for another time.

I would love them to come back and try something different and get the restaurant get noticed

and have lots of people try the food me and the other cooks make and prepare for them so

they have a nice breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

My career is to go to culinary school for 2 years and get transferred out of Merced and

making really good money. I would really want to be transferred to the bay area like in San
Francisco or Monterey area because I feel comfortable out there because I know the

environment over there. The people are really nice and really understanding and I believe I can

fit in with them because I like communicating with new people and making sure they are happy

with their experience with the place I am working.

I plan on living in Merced still with my mom and dad and make enough money so I can

move out and get my own apartment or anywhere else so I can be myself and make my parents

proud of me. I would like to live in the bay area or a bigger city around Merced so I would not

be far from home. I would be happy to live somewhere like Modesto because it is bigger than

Merced. I almost know my way around Modesto so I am comfortable with the city.
