Lyndon B. Johnson and Donald Trump

Lyndon Baines Johnson was born on August 27, 1908, near Stonewall, Texas, in a small
farmhouse on the Pedernales River. He was raised in the hill country of texas. There was no
elictricity in the hill country of texas. In fact Lyndon Johnson brought the electricity to the hill
country of Texas. The loneliness and poverty shaped young Lyndon B. Johnson.

Johnson was elected vice president in 1960 and acceded to the presidency in 1963 upon
the assassination of Pres. John F. Kennedy. Being the 36th president of the United States from 63
to 69.. A moderate Democrat and vigorous leader in the United States Senate, . During his
administration he signed into law the Civil Rights Act (1964).

Lyndon B. Johnson was more of a political hero and inspiration to most people. Meaning
his way of moving the senate was unlike anyone has before in the 60’s. Up until Lyndon B.
Johnson, the american Senate did not function. He became majority leader, then when hes done
becoming majority leader. he becomes vice president. then finally the 36th president of the
United States. But the minute he stoped his job. the senate never really functioned the way he
made it function. Then the question becomes what did Lyndon Johnson have that enabled him to
make the senate worked that no one else has cracked in the history of the United states.
He was a Political genius. He becomes majority leader then wants to pass a civil rights
legislation/ voting rights legislation and you watch him, vote by vote turn the senate around. And
i think that the united states wouldnt have a voting rights legislation if it wasnt for Lyndon B
johnson. When John F. Kennedy is shot the same day he introduces a wonderful civil rights bill
and gave a wonderful speech. But it was going nowhere. The south was never gonna let that
happen as at te time there were still tension between the north and the south and specifically
racism.
Four days after Johnson Becomes president. He had to give a speech, address to the
congress. His four speech writers all agreed about not including the civil rights legislation as they
told lyndon b johnson that doing that would put you on the same fate as John F. Kennedy. they
told him its a noble cause. but its a lost cause. and johnson replied to the four speech writers
“well what the hell is the presidency for then”?
