Pride Sample

I am proud of who I am and who I’ve become through my high school career. I’m proud

that I’ve been able to lead my section in band, both the basses and all the woodwinds. I’m proud

of this because leading such a big group through a march takes skill, experience, and

knowledge of what to do and how to do it to make it the most successful it can be. I’m proud that

I could make my bassline sound as one person together when there’s five different people

playing. I’m proud that I’ve been able to adapt to high school and all the hardships that it’s

thrown at me.

Senior year was probably one of the hardest years in high school for me because I

challenged myself to take harder classes so I enrolled in AP courses to complete that challenge.

It was and wasn’t what I was expecting. The classes were easier than expected to me because I

had higher expectations or my mindset had me thinking that the classes were going to the most

stressful things ever.

I managed to complete my work while being able to practice in drumline and march with

the band all around the same time. Even though drumline would take the most time away from

work, I would be able to complete it. Practices were difficult but it was fun to play with my friends

and have the ability to implement any new things that our instructor told us to do right off the bat

even if it did confuse us. We would all try to do it anyways.

I plan to use these skills I’ve learned in high school to in my future careers whether

they’re in my musical career or my working careers. Even if I don’t, they’re always going to be

there within me because I’ve used them before.
