“Two in One”

Act One

FADE IN:

EXT. BEACH - SUNRISE

SADIE stands with a trash bag in her hands. She is picking trash
along the beach, humming a tune.
SADIE
(content)
I want it, I got it. I want it, I got it. You like, my
hair? Gee thanks, just bought it. I see it, I like it,
I want it, I got it.

CHRISTIAN approaches.
CHRISTIAN
Cleaning up the Earth really is something great. It
relaxes your mind, body, soul… (sighs) I wish more
people would realize how important it is to keep our
planet clean.

Sadie stops dead in her tracks. She looks at the tattoo on her
arm. It reads “Cleaning up the Earth really is something great.”
She just found the love of her life. She turns, dropping the
trash bag.
Sadie
(baffled)
You like to clean up, too?

Christian
(passionate)
Of course. It’s the least we could do for Earth. It
provides us heat, cold, water, food, everything we
need to survive, let alone somewhere to live.
Sadie picks up the bag, walking over to him.
Sadie
What does your tattoo say?

Christian
(confused)
My… tattoo? (pulls up shirt, exposing stomach) (tattoo
on stomach reads “you like to clean up, too?”) (he
looks at Sadie with admiration in his eyes) *pause*
That’s… that’s what you said to me.

Sadie
(smiling)
Read mine. (rolls up sleeve, exposing her tattoo)

Christian
That’s what I said to you. *pause* It’s you? You’re
the one I’ve been looking for?

Sadie
(nodding)
We’re made for each other.

Sadie drops the bag once again and Christian takes her hands in
his.
Christian
Nice to meet you, soul mate.

FADE OUT

1 YEAR LATER

FADE IN:

INT. RESTAURANT - EVENING

Sadie and Christian are on a date for their 1 year anniversary.
They sit at the table, laughing, having a good time. Audience
can tell how in love they are by how they look at each other.

WAITER walks over to their table.

WAITER
(calmly)
For dessert tonight, I have champagne and red velvet
cake for you.

Christian
Thank you.

They begin eating and Sadie notices Christian is acting strange.

Sadie
(concerned)
Are you okay?

Christian
Of course, babe. Just take a drink of your champagne.

Sadie picks up her glass and looks into it. Sitting in the
bottom is a ring.

She puts her hands over her mouth.

Christian
You are the love of my life. I’ve wanted to ask you
this from the second I met you. I want to grow old
with you and discover new things about life and I just
want to live with you forever and always. Sadie, will
you marry me?

Sadie
(nodding)
YES!
They embrace, and the scene fades out as people clap around
them.

FADE IN:

EXT. BEACH - AFTERNOON

Sadie and Christian are cleaning up the beach when a WOMAN

approaches.

WOMAN
Cleaning up the Earth really is something great. We
need more people like you two in this world!

Sadie and Christian stop picking up trash and look at each

other, dumbfounded. Did she just say…?

The woman continues walking down the beach, getting further and
further with every step.
