Leonardo da Vinci

Leonardo da Vinci was an essential figure during the Renaissance. He was born on April 15, 1452 in a

small Tuscan hill town to Messer Piero Fruosino di Antonio da Vinci and Caterina. During the first 5 years of his

life, he was living with his mother until his father took custody of him. At his father’s home, he was the oldest of

his 12 half-siblings. Then, at the age of 14, he became an apprentice to the artist Andrea di Cione. While he

was an apprentice, Leonardo learned many new skills such as chemistry, metal working, and painting.

Although Leonardo da Vinci was an inventor and an artist, he was most remembered for his skill in art.

Leonardo da Vinci was remembered most for his talent in art.. In Source 1, it states, ¨Among the arts

created by Leonardo in the 16th century is the small portrait known as the Mona Lisa or ¨la Gioconda¨, the

laughing one. In the present era, it is arguably the most famous painting in the world.¨ The evidence shows that

a factor of why Leonardo da Vinci was remembered for his art was because of the Mona Lisa. About 6 million

people visit Louvre each year to see the Mona Lisa which the evidence stated that it is the most famous

painting in the world. That would mean that Leonardo would become pretty famous for his work on the Mona

Lisa. Also, on Source 1, it states, “Leonardo’s most famous painting of the 1490s is The Last Supper...” The

text shows that Leonardo da Vinci was most known for his art. The Last Supper is one of his most famous

paintings which would make Leonardo remembered for his artistic skill. Leonardo da Vinci died at the age of 67

after a fatal stroke. But, Leonardo da Vinci would be remembered for his artistic genius.
