The Childhood of Weeb

Imagine being a kid, with nobody to guide you in life, teach you how to tie your

shoes, cover your mouth when you cough, or even how to talk. Now imagine being cast

in the universe, not knowing how to do any of those things or even how to survive.

That’s what Weeb had to go through. After his parents decided they didn’t want him, he

was sent away to a planet that takes in child aliens. The planet is packed to the brim

and there isn’t enough staff to take care of the kids, so the place is unruly and

counterproductive. The planet was dark and uniformed. Its comparable to a military

camp. Weeb had a hard time there because he looked different from the other kids

because his family originated from a planet galaxies away. The other kids made fun of

him for that. Nobody ever played with him, and he felt like nobody cared. Weeb thought

he was truly alone on an overpopulated planet, a feeling no child should have. One day,

shortly after his 13th birthday, he hit a breaking point. There was an older alien mocking

him about his size. Weeb was six feet tall, whereas all the other kids his age were

upmost of eight feet.

Weeb decided that that night would be the night he left that planet. He was going

to start a life on his own. However in space, 16 years old is comparable to a ten year old

on planet Earth, and Weeb was too young to know about the troubles ahead. That night
he waited until after dinner, and when the chaos of everyone settling in was going on,

he snuck out. After an hour of waiting, he spotted the public transit spaceship coming to

the planet. He hopped on and rode it for days. Planning on traveling as far away as it

will take him. The ship was dirty and grimy from endlessly taking people here and there.

It made Weeb uncomfortable because the people around him were skeptical. After the

fourth day of traveling at near hyperspeed, he saw a place that felt right to him. The

planet was colorful, with a variety of other aliens. Some he had never seen before and

others that looked similar to him. He decided to get off here. Eventually he stumbled to

a park full of kids that actually wanted to play with him. He played for hours and hours.

Actually learning what being a kid was supposed to be like. However, eventually all the

other kids started to go home to their families, and once again, he was all alone. That

night he slept on a park bench.

The next morning when Weeb was woken up by the sun, he decided he

didn’t want to play at the park that day. He walked all around the small planet filled with

happiness. He saw people walking their dogs, couples running up and down the street,

aliens going to work. All kinds of regular things that were new to him. Some things

scared him, and others intrigued him. He found a souvenir store of some sort, and there

he found a map. He looked for the planet that he grew up on, but it was so far away it

wasn’t even on the same map. He decided it would always be that way. As nighttime

came he saw a sign light up that said,

“Acting club, now opening!”

He didn’t know much about acting, but the building looked warm inside, so he

went to check it out. He walked in the building to be greeted by colorful signs and

strange props of things he's never seen before. There was a handful of aliens there that

were all nice to him. In that moment, Weeb decided this was where he was meant to be.

He was there day and night, learning how to act and making friends. He was busy with

shows and plays so much that he forgot about his past.

The nights were hard for him. Once the doors locked, he never had anywhere to

go. Sometimes he would go to his friends house, but he couldn’t do that often due to the

fear of them finding out he had no parents. Other nights he could sneak into the shelter,

but sometimes he had nowhere to go, and he just wondered the street. Sometimes he

thought about going to the authorities and asking for help, but was afraid he would be

sent back to the same place he started at. However, one night he ran into an older

homeless alien. The older one can sense that something was going on and told him that

he would be placed in a foster home instead of the group home on the other planet. The

man walked him to the police station and Weeb went in. He figured that if he didn’t like

it, he would leave and wouldn’t be any worse off than he is now.

The next day, a lady had a meeting with Weeb to tell him that he would be going

to a family of aliens that have three kids around his age to play with. This excited Weeb,

even though he didn’t show it. Once he arrived there, he felt comfortable right away. He

had a room of his own and the family was incredibly nice to him. During the meeting

with the lady, Weeb told her about his acting, so the family was ready and allowed him
to walk there whenever he pleased. Things were finally looking up for him, and he finally

was starting to feel happy.

Weeb stayed in this house for a while, until he was old enough to go out on his

own. After that he stayed with his acting friends for a few years until he was old enough

to get a place for himself. He kept in touch with his foster family, but prefered to be

alone. He was in a good place in his life now. He knew he had people around if he

needed them, but still worked hard so that he wouldn't.
