Moy 2a™- Moy ale Leelanau Outdoor Center General Information [Established in 1994 the Leelanau Outdoor Center (LOC) provides quality outdoor ‘and character education on 200-acres of property on the shores of Lake Michigan, Innavative programs at LOC expand education beyond classroom walls and teach ‘over 2,000 students zach year how to be stewards of the environment as well as of thei character. ‘LOC activities are age appropriate, and all programs strongly support Michigan state educational stmdards. At LOC, each student receives: ‘+ Experience-based character education in an outdoor setting + Handi-on activities that focus on: Communication Respecting differences (Critica thinking and decision making Analysis of decisions + Helping others | asking for help from others Postve lessons on leadership, confidence and communication ‘kills tha last ifetine ‘The LOC experience is one of the best teachers can give ther students. The staff is commited tohelping children and young adults realize their potential and practice doing their est overy day, Directions: From Traverse City, take M-72 west out of town 13 miles to the Maple City turnoff, County Road 667. Follow 667 through Maple City until you reach Hwy M-22 (11 miles).
