Global Citizen Essay

Global learning is being involved with the interconnections between people, places , and

the globe. Asking us as people to observe the similarities and the differences about the world

around us. The significance of being a global learner and citizen in the twenty first century is ​ to

think about the role each citizen will have in this new dynamic community​. The Ambassador

School of Global Leadership’s mission of engaging students to take action in global situations

and to be involved not only in the community but globally, focuses on developing global

learners. Similarly, the vision is to make the students of Ambassador School of Global

Leadership prepared and full fledged global learners and citizens. The essential qualities of a

global learner and citizen are honesty, courage, and respect.

It is essential to be a global learner because it is important that we have to develop

cultural awareness ​ ​and empathy, to preserve the planet that all humans share. Abraham Lincoln

is an example of a global citizen and be best described as honest and courageous. This person’s

greatest achievement was the abolishment of slavery and this shows their commitment of a

global citizen because Lincoln thought slavery was morally wrong and he decided that African

Americans should have freedom and civil human rights. In order to achieve this level of global

citizenship one must realize how the world around them is and must decide to make a change to

bring peace when there is hate and injustice. In an ever-developing global world learning manner

is critical as it can change mankind to live in harmony.

Becoming a global learner and citizen was crucial to my academic and professional life

because it has changed my mentality on how one must have courage to take a step on changing

themselves and the world around them to improve their future. I believe that I have mastered the

global performance outcomes best through global seminar, school projects, and being involved

with the extra curricular activities in my community. The experience of mastering the global

performance outcomes has helped me to understand why it is important to become a global

citizen. As well, mastering the global performance outcomes has assisted me in becoming

honest, courageous, and for having respect not only for other but for myself as well. It is

undeniable that achieving these qualities of a global learner has improved my overall being

because with this qualities it help me throughout college and my future.

The global learner and citizen can best contribute to society as he or she is able to master

qualities of becoming a global learner and citizen. One who has not achieved global competency

is not as competitive because they will not be able to make change or understand someone else’s

voice if they are to assist to make the world a better place. I will contribute more effectively to

society because ASGL has assisted me on accomplishing of reaching the qualities of becoming a

global learner and citizen use on society. Global learning and engaging is critical to the world

because ​global learning supports the long-term development and success of pupils, by enhancing

their critical thinking skills and boosting their relationships with peers. Therefore, this is how I

will contribute to society and will use the qualities of a global learner and citizen throughout my

life .

A global learner and citizen is someone that is involved between the interconnections of

people and the globe. The qualities of a global learner and citizen are honesty, courage, and

respect. Becoming a global learner is essential to all students no matter where one is at in the

world because it will benefit them in their future and to the world. Global learning is the key on

becoming a better person and the key to make the world a better place.
