Subject: Defining the qualification criteria of a Clinical Psychologist and licensing. Most respectfully stated that I had registered a complaint to the state for defining the qualification criteria of a Clinical Psychologist i.e. the psychologist who work with mental health related institutes specifically in DHQs. The said complaint was resolved on the comment of PMDC end that the said complaint is not related to PMDC. Most respectfully I had not registered may complaint to the PMDC, I had registered the complaint to the State. I request to the state that please define the qualification of a Clinical Psychologist by involving the Pakistan Psychological Association (PPA), Pakistan Clinical Psychology Association and the institutes which are training Clinical Psychologist in Pakistan specifically the Punjab University, IIUI, Karachi University, NUST and GCUL. These Esteemed institutes are conducting Training on the HEC registered Diploma the ADCP, PMDC and MS in Clinical Psychology program and producing Trained Clinical Psychologists in Pakistan. May complaint is that no one holding MSc Psychology is a Clinical Psychologist weather he obtained the specialization Courses in form of Diploma which is ADCP or PMDC in Pakistan or higher degree which is MS in Clinical Psychology in Pakistan. The Clinical Psychologist is the specialist as the cardiologist and Anesthesiologist who holds FCPS in related Discipline after completing MBBS. Hence where the MBBS has no right to be recruited as cardiologist same the MSc or sixteen-year qualification is unnecessary for being Clinical Psychologist. Unfortunately, the MSc degree holders are recruited as clinical Psychologist and the person with specialization set aside. I hope that the state shall take step to define the qualification criterion by involving the relevant institutes and will ensure that no non-specialist will be recruited in future. Your Anticipation!
