Hangugeo is a recommendable inclusion to Junior High School Elective Subjects thus requires

understanding from Filipino educational system. This curricular formation is in response to increasing
effect of cultural understanding among Asian Countries and opens a wider opportunities to Filipinos for
educational, social, political/economical and professional perspectives. With the influence of Korean
culture to Filipinos especially the youth who open-mindedly embrace the music and lifestyle as shown
via social media, it cannot be denied that Hangugeo was seen to be a pre-requisite towards a bigger
possibility of opening the country's (Korea) boarder to the Philippines. Many argue that its inclusion to
the nation's educational arena is a disgraceful act against the national language (Filipino) and to the
culture in general; however, it should be noted that it was included in the educational mainstream after
thorough analysis of its great contributions towards national development and will not definitely affect
the Philippine's main goal of instilling patriotism and nationalism among Filipino learners. Hangugeo is
just another way of enabling Filipinos to embrace cultural understanding to the neighboring countries
and to attain worldclass competencies.

Should Korean Language (Hangugeo) be included in the Philippine Educational System specifically to
Junior High School Program as an elective subject?
