Narration system:-Wuthering Heights has a very unique and complex narrative structure/narration

system. There are two main narrators: Lockwood and Nelly. They are both eyewitness narrators, since
they take part in the story they describe. The novel is organized in such a way, that it is a narrative
within a narrative, what we call “ frame” narrative. ( kind of a framework story). Lockwood both opens
and ends the novel, he is kind of a representative of the “outer” frame of the story. The frame story is
that of Lockwood, who informs us of his meeting the mysterious family. ( A perfect misanthropist’s life)

The narrators are not so reliable as they may seem to be, because they are also involved in the plot, not
omniscient narrators.
