ENGL 98 Essay Grading Criteria

In order to receive the highest possible grade on your essays in this class, your essay should:

 Answer all prompt questions.

 Reach appropriate page length (ex: If the minimum page length is four pages, your

essay should not be any shorter than that).

 Meet all formatting requirements (Typed, Double-Spaced, 12pt. Font, Times New

Roman, etc).
 Have a clear main idea/thesis statement.
 Be well-supported; use details/evidence to support.
 Be clear, well-written, and easy to follow.
