”Damn, She Can’t Compare”

It was our last day on set and the room was filled with that feeling of loss that you, as well as
everyone else, know that you aren’t going to get back.
Cat has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and she is the way that I
started out.
Not on the show with Jeanette, but with the one before, with Victoria, Matt, Leon Thomas
III, Avan Jogia, Daniella Monet, and so many others that I love.
I now have to pursue my love.
My passion—Making music and spreading my thoughts and ideas through words that flow with
a beat.
I am now able to take a step in my own direction and see what is out there for me
Now that acting is behind me for this next chapter in my life.
I get to explore my career as me rather than the girl with the high pitched voice and the vivid red
hair curls hanging from either side of her head,
What comes next is going to be me and no one else.
It’s going to be what I have to say, and who I have to say it to.

The light undertones helped as I look at this new version of myself.

Rather than the ruby-like curls that bounced beside my head, I developed a half up half down
ponytail which follows me as I move throughout the stage—my own style.
I am back to the way I was, and yet I still see nothing the same about me.
I am stronger. Different. I am undeniably myself– I no longer need to live behind the shadow of
a half-witted fictional character.
I am now my own person, identifiable from the others.
I stand with confidence down each stretch of the red-velvety fabric provided to honor
celebrities, accepting me as one of them, knowing that I am here because of me and only
me—that I am the one who can take the credit for each stride I take to the other end.
The constant flashing and calling of my name is the sign of me being recognized for me.
It's no longer about the collaborations or about the character.
It's nothing but me and what I can give this world.
