“Florence Nightingale Was The Lady With The Lamp”

Florence Nightingale was a nurse who saved many lives in the 19th century. Her
family was rich. Nightingale learned a lot of things as she grew up for her
childhood although people thought women didnt need to study, but her father
gave her a lot of education.
One day nightingale saw a dying dog while walking on the street, she said, “what
happend with you? Ohh my God it’s hurt ? well, I’ll take you and help to care
you” after that, she rescued and treated the dog with all her heart although it was
dangerous to do so.
Nightingale grew up beeing an unusual young woman she didn’t want to go to
parties and get married. One day, she heard about her grandmother’s critical
condition and visited her, she said “ O my grandma, I’ll help and treat you
carefully with all of my heart” her grand mother replied, “O thank you my girl to
care of me “ She nursed her grandmother gradually recovered her health.
In the next time, She told her parent that she wanted to be a nurse and help people.
“ well, mom and dad, I’ll study the science of nursing properly” her mothers
replied, “That’s nonsense! nursing is not a job of such noble family as ours, more
over, hospitals are dirty places swarming with viruses, thats horrible places” her
parent were very disagree to her desicion. They were worried about her. In 1851,
Nightingale went to Germany and learned all about nursing. It was hard work, but
she loved it.
In 1854, lots of British soldiers went to fight in the Crimean War. Army hospitals
were filled with injured men, but there were no nurses and many men died.
Nightingale and a team of nurse went to help. Nightingale worked 20 hours a day
to make the army hospital a cleaner and safer place. She said “Today I bring the
men fresh food, clean up the hospital beds and use clean bandages on the
wounded soldiers, I hope their will be better”. Soon, fewer men were dying.
At night, Nightingale walked around the hospital. She talked to the injured
soldiers. He said, “I wanna write my letter to my family, can you help me mam?”
“yeah, I’ll put your paper and pen” “Dont forget for your lamp” “well,I’ll bring it
too” she helped the men wrote a letter to their families. She carried a lamp and the
soldiers called her ‘The lady with the lamp’.
Day by day, Nightingale improved sanitary conditions of the dirty place little by
little she separated and care for the patients faithfully with all her heart, patients
were moved to tears after being cared for by a nurse for the first time but not all
people liked nightangle women social activity because of her beyond imagination
at that time.
When Nightingale returned to England, people called her a heroine because of her
amazing work in the Crimean War. Queen Victoria wrote her a letter to say thank
you. She was the first nurse woman to receive this honour. and also her parents
was glad of her succes.
 THE LEGEND OF SITU BAGENDIT

Once upon a time there lived a very wealthy woman in a small village. She lived
with her daughter in a very big house .But,she was very greedy so people called
her Bagenda Endit, the greedy wealthy woman.
“Ha…ha…ha I’m the richest woman in this village. all these wealth are mine.
No one can take even a little cent from me.I have all of these by my own. So why
do I have to share the things with the other?” That was what she thought about.
She didn’t care about people around her,although they were very poor and were
starving.
One day, a very old woman came to her and asked for help.She said,”
Bagenda Endit, please help me. My grandson and I never has any food for days.
We are starving”. Bagenda Endit replaid ”Hi, the ugly old woman! I don’t care
with you or your grandson. Whether you are starving or even dying, it is not my
business get away from me!.” The old woman didn’t move from Bagenda Endit
sight, so Bagenda Endit sprayed the woman with some water. The old woman got
wet,but Bagenda Endit was so cruel. She didnt feel little sorry to the old woman.
So,She forced the old woman to get out of her yard.
A few days later,her daughter had Bithday party.Then, a very old man came
to her with a stick and asked for some water. “Bagenda, please give me some
water. I am so thirsty. If you don’t mind I’ll take the water from your well.”
Asked the old man.
“Hey, the poor old man. I don’t want you to take my water. Any drops of my
water is only for me. No one can take any of them. Go away!”said Bagenda
Endit.Then,the old man said,”Bagenda Endit, if you don’t want to loose any drop
of your water.I want you to take this stick!”bagenda endit replied,”do you think i
cant do it?”then,she took the stick but its was dificult. “oh nyai endit you cant do
it because your stingy !now,I’ll give you punishmen!”.
After that he pull a stik out of the ground and the water came o\ut bursted into the
air.Baginda endit was shocked ”OMG my whealthy hey help me help me!”
Bagenda Endit was drowned with all of her wealthy.Finally, the water swept all
over the village and it became a beautifull lake. Now,People called it Situ
Bagendit.
