School of Kendari and 9th Senior High School of Kendari with total population were
2.312 students. Total samples that fulfilled inclusion criteria were 90 samples and

sphygmomanometer for blood pressure measurement, International Physical Activity
Questionnaire (IPAQ) to assess physical activity and questionnaire for family history to
assess family history of hypertension. Data was analysed by Spearman test and was
significantly correlated if p value <0,05.
Result of research showed that respondents with normal blood pressure were 60%,
elevated blood pressure were 26,7%, 1st degree hypertension were 12,2% and 2nd degree
hypertension was 1,1%. Result of data analysis showed that there was significant
correlation between physical activity and blood pressure (p value = 0,001; r = -0,344) and
there was significant correlation between family history of hypertension and blood
pressure (p value = 0,000; r = 0,585).
Conclusion of this research there was significant correlation between physical activity
and family history of hypertension toward adolescent blood pressure at coastal area of
Kendari.
