bid for Jaypee Infra PRESS TRUST OF INDIA NEW DELHI
Adani Group has made an
unsolicited and non-bind- ing bid to acquire Jaypee Infratech and is ready to in- fuse up to ₹ 1,700 crore to expedite the construction of stuck housing projects of the debt-laden realty fi rm and deliver fl ats to home buyers, sources said. Adani promised to in- fuse another ₹ 1,000 crore in two equal tranches to settle the claims of work- men as well as secured and unsecured fi nancial credi- tors, besides meeting the cost of insolvency proceed- ings. It will also transfer 1,000 acre land to bankers. The IRP had called for a meeting of the committee of creditors on Thursday for further discussion on the resolution plan submit- ted by State-owned NBCC.
