Dear Judges:

Hello, my name is Teranae Davis and this is my 3rd year at Garinger. I am in the 11th grade and
after graduation in 2020 I plan to apply to Johnson and Wales University to major in Culinary. I
aim to major in culinary because I would like to open up my own bakery. Having my own
bakery has always been a dream of mine since I was a little girl.

First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time out your day to come out to Garinger. I
appreciate your time and your critique on my presentation. In my presentation today, I will be
discussing the importance of improving attendance. This topic was very important to me because
I often see how teachers become stressed due to many students unfortunately missing class and
this holds a toll on not only the student but the teachers as well. Students that do not attend class
will fall behind academically and this will cause the teacher to reteach the lesson.

Improving attendance will not only allow us to see an improvement in academics, but it will also
show that students enjoy coming to class to learn.

Thank you so much again for your precious time. I hope my presentation educated you on my
topic and will also allow you to understand the significance of improving attendance.
