|As the year progressed, Courtney grew as an educator. she taught 2 sections of General
Chemistry (10th, 13th, and 12th grade students} and one section of Block Stence Biology,
hich is atwo hour freshman course. General Chemistry was anew class for me oI had
‘minimal resources to provide to Courtney. However, she consistently handled the workload
with patience anda sense of purpose. She was organized and clear with her expectation for
students and for herself, Courtney was able to move from asking for my assistance with
planning to making and carrying out her own plans whe onty occasionally asking for my
‘pinion or advice, She was receptive to feedback and was able to make immediate changes
‘uring a esto in response to student needs. Asa member ofthe cohort model, Courtney
‘aso worked collaboratively with other interns to brainstorm pedagogy, lsson pan, and
reflect onher teaching
Lastly, want to make mention ofthe non-classroom activites and responsibilities in which
Courtney partcpated. She attended staff meetings, professional development days, nd
showed av interest in her students and colleagues. Courtney actively sought opportunities for
collaboration and feedback from teachers and administrators at Rochester High
School. Parent teacher conferences were also part of Courtneys responsibilities this spring
‘and she handled them with professionalism. Subsequently, many parents felt comfortable
temaling her directly with their questions or concerns instead of contacting me), She also
‘worked wh our Academic Center to assist and understand the various needs of our student
populatior Finaly, Courtney made herself readily availabe for students who needed extra
help before and after schoo}, as wellas during lunch. Students felt comfortable coming to her
for help with academic and socal needs, which speaks a great amount for her ability to relate
tothem.
‘Any schoc! would be privileged to have Courtney as apart ofits staff. Please contact me with
‘any further questions.
