The way Tim Burton use his style over cinematic techniques is to make his movies scary,
spooky, funny, have some emotion into it. His cinematic techniques towards that are
flashbacks, close up shot and low-key lighting. Tim Burton is famous American film director
over the movies he have made. His very successful movies were Edward Scissorhands,
Nightmare before Christmas, and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. Tim Burton uses theses
three techniques to make his movie really successful.

The first cinematic technique that Tim Burton use a lot in his movies were flashbacks.
Flashbacks is a movement that you remember from the past. When he uses that technique it’s
makes a understanding of someone past life and can also show some sad emotion towards
that. In one of the movies named “Edwards Scissorhands”, When Tim Burton uses
flashbacks, it shows Edward past in the dark house with his father. In the clip it show that his
father made some hands and show them to Edward but he had a heart attack at that
movement and he die from it, which made edward have some sad emotions. Another movie
that he uses flashbacks in is “Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.” In that movie it show the
past of Wonk life as a kid with in that clip it show that movement when it was halloween. he
was getting candy from other houses, when he came home. He show all the candy to his
father but his father said that all this wasn't good for him, so his dad throw it in the fire. Tim
Burton uses flashbacks to make sense about something or about someone feelings when
they think about their past.

The second cinematic technique that Tim Burton use in his movie is close up shot. Close
up shot is something that you see up close like a face or maybe an object. Tim Burton use
that technique in the movies to show emotion or to see up close. In the movie of “Edward
Scissorhands”, When Tim Burton did use close up shot. It did show that Edward did had some
sad emotion and even scared when something did happen. Another movie called “Charlie and
the Chocolate Factory”, Tim Burton use that technique towards Wonka and it did show sad
emotion to him because everything he hear the word “Dad” or “Family” it made me have sad
emotion. Last movie is “Nightmare before Christmas” When Tim Burton use close up shot to
that movie, its shows people face up close to make it seem spooky. Tim Burton uses close up
shot to show someone emotion on how they feel or react to something or looking at a object
close.

The third cinematic technique that Tim Burton use in his movie were low angle .Low angle is
when everything look bigger, which makes it seem spooky/scary. When Tim Burton uses that
technique. In the movie “Edward Scissorhands”, When Tim Burton uses low angle, he uses
towards the house that Edward used to live in. In the movie, the lady who take care of Edward
went to look up at the house but when she look up it did look big from the angle she look at,
also it was dark which made it look more spooky. Another movie will be “Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory” Tim Burton uses that technique towards the door from the factory, which
makes it look really huge. The movie “Nightmare before Christmas” When Tim Burton use that
technique it was towards the people. He uses them to make them look big which meaning it
will make them look spooky/scary.

Finally, towards the movies Tim Burton, His movies became very famous over the cinematic
techniques he has use in the movies. When he uses them it makes seem look spooky, funny,
sad or any other thing of feeling.
