There were many people that opposed the Vietnam War.

They thought it was immoral and

unnecessary because they didn’t believe all the death and fighting was worth it. There were
many protests held to show opposition, most Americans didn’t even feel threatened by Vietnam,
they knew all the conflict was for nothing. They were just upset that American citizens kept
getting drafted in to fight for a lost cause. 58,000 American troops died in combat.

Protests were conducted by families, students, and mothers while the media was able to
capture pictures during the time. People knew it was immoral to continue all the action going on.
The protests were peaceful, but did try to cause a pushback to the 40,000 men that got drafted
almost every month. Americans were tired of seeing their sons and family members go out and
die for something that really did not need to happen.
