Women today envisions as the whopping light for the renaissance of gender

balance as being tagged as the slaves of dominant power and strength. We cannot deny

that at the beginning of gender empowerment there is a great battle that was fought not

just only by papers but the will of oneself to freedom of gender biased. In other way, the

image drawn by the fantasy drama “Games of Thrones” especially in the first series shows

jaundiced treatment of women that depicts the voiceless and powerless right of women.

Even if the main projection of the drama was the hostile kingdom dominion of the different

houses yet along with it was the insignificant manifestation of gender imbalance that was

shown as women was used only as the object of sexual satisfaction and slaves of foulest

labor. Arguing the concept tagged before the ancient civilization about women is

justifiable since women on that time was silent on how men treat them and reasons maybe

uprooted by violence and death.

One of the great factor why women was ticketed as being low profile was the

society itself. The power of the society was a strong and hard stoned that can injures and

fractures anyone that can be targeted, this can be evident in the drama. (1) Women have

limited choice of options. They were not given privileges unless they are a wife or mother

to the male in power. (2) Khal Drogo, leader of the Dothraki, promises the Iron Throne to

his unborn son, not to his wife Daenerys Targaryen, daughter of the slain former King of

the Seven Kingdoms and who may have a claim to the throne. (3) The society of Westeros
is feudal, misogynistic and patriarchal, implies that there is hatred in women and men

power base society. Implied also in the movie the less valuing of the jurisdiction of women

where the juries will not spare time in any kind of missteps made and committed by

women.

Men and women was made to make things easier in most of the tasks in this world.

We could do the things as simpler as it was in the most convenient manner if at the very

beginning women was given with same opportunity in education, politics, family, labor,

employment and etc... One of the most stepping stone of women empowerment that I

knew from the great book the Bible was the account of Deborah in the book of Judges,

Deborah was a prophetess of the God of Israelites, the fourth judge of pre-monarchic

Israel and the only female judge mentioned in the Bible. It can be inferred that at that time

women was just the assigned being for nurturing the children, preparing foods for the

family, selling things to generate money for her family and the one who was instrumented

of human multiplication yet Deborah changed all the tagged for women in the era. That

she become the first Judge of her time, commanding the pack to attack the forces of Jabin

king of Canaan and his military commander Sisera.

The account in the Bible shows the empowerment of women in the field of

leadership not just being as the low profile in the society. Another example of women

empowerment is the 11th President of the Philippines, Corazon Aquino, the first woman

to hold the office of Presidency. Furthermore, the essence of being glorified in many fields

in our society makes an elevation of the rating of the women ascendency in our country.

In conclusion, the secret ingredient for the betterment of our nation and society

was the harmonious relationship and acceptance of the differences of sex, gender, status

and among others in a community with no reservation.
