Language Self-Study Reflection

To improve my language skills, I did four language self-study tutorials by using the

book Language Power. This book has 25 tutorials that cover all the important knowledge

about grammar and language structures in English.

The first tutorial I did is tutorial 12 which talked about inaccurate word choice. In

this tutorial, I learned about how to choose between similar words in a sentence. Accurate

use of word will make my writing formal and professional. The second and the third

tutorial are about word forms and phrases, clauses, and sentence type. These two tutorials

teach me the basic and significant grammar points in English. For the last tutorial, I did

practice about punctuation. Each tutorial is helpful in the Language Power because it

clearly explains all the things related to the topic and provides practice problem for me to

check my understanding. Moreover, every tutorial requires me to apply what I have

learned to my writings. These three steps are really useful and easy to follow. In the

future, if I have some confusing grammar question, I definitely will open this book and

find the tutorial I want. Language Power is an excellent reference for me to improve my

writing. I will try to finish all the tutorial and I believe these tutorials will help me

decrease the number of grammar mistakes and improve the quality of my writing.
