CHAPTER 4

Analysis and Interpretation of Data

This chapter presents of data based on the data gathered

through the questionnaire from the respondents. These data were

statistically treated, analyzed and interpreted in accordance

with the presented topic. In this manner, textual presentation

was used to explain and elaborate as well as to implicate

specific indicators with corresponding text and figures. Tabular

forms are likewise included to visualize given data using table

were utilized. The presentation and discussions to answer the

specific problem in the study are as follow: 1.What are the

existing practices used for enhancing communication skills with

the implementation of Oral Communication prioritizing the

students’ fluency along; a.)using English language in subject

implementing English as the instructional medium b.) Social

Interactions c.) Written works d.) Actual performances? 2. What

are the problems encountered by the students in the

implementation of Oral Communication in developing their

communication skills? 3. What is the major factor contributing

to effective implementation of Oral Communication to the

communication skills? 4. How does every student excel in their

academic performance with the use of Oral Communication?


The extent of the effectiveness of the implementation of

Oral Communication in developing the communication skills of

selected Grade 11 students in Godofredo Reyes Sr. National High

School was based on the respondents’ response from the

distributed survey questionnaire.

Practices Used for Enhancing Communication Skills. As

gleaned in Table 3, one out of six indicators we’re rated as

Very Satisfactory. Presented in their ranks and weighted mean

accordingly: the use of English language in academic

performances with the weighted mean of (Wx̄ = 3.5), using English

language in the primary skills namely listening, reading,

writing and speaking with the mean of (Wx̄ = 3.23), Reading

English article that helps them to widen their vocabulary with a

weighted mean of (Wx̄ = 3.23), strict using of English language in

class recitations which has the weighted mean of (Wx̄ = 2.82),

frequent using of English language when talking to peers with a

weighted mean of (Wx̄ = 2.73) and the use of English language in

academic performances with a weighted mean of (Wx̄ = 2.73).


This supports the statement of Ibrahim that EMI (English

Medium Instruction) is an effective means of enhancing student’s

communication skills.

Therefore, the practices used in Oral Communication for

enhancing the communication skills is an important factor in

developing the communication skills of students.

Problems Encountered. It can be observed one hundred

percent (100%) of the indicators was rated Satisfactory.
